Dire Dawa

Dire Dawa is a major hub in eastern Ethiopia, characterized by its unique blend of French-colonial and traditional architecture. The city is divided by the Dechatu River, with the modern side (Kezira) showcasing wide streets and colonial buildings, and the old town (Megala) offering a labyrinth of markets and traditional homes. It has historically been a center of trade and commerce due to the Ethio-Djibouti Railway.
